ಬಳಕೆಯ ನಿಯಮಗಳು
These terms govern your use of SQL Format at sql-format.io, including the online formatter, the guides and the documentation. They are short and written in plain language. By using the site, you agree to them.
The service
SQL Format provides a free online tool that reformats SQL text, together with articles and documentation about SQL formatting and style. No account is required. We may change, add or remove features, options or pages at any time, and we may suspend the service, for example for maintenance, without notice.
No warranty
The site and the formatter are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that formatted output will be correct for your database, dialect or version.
The same applies to the guides and documentation. They reflect the experience of their authors and are offered as general information, not as professional advice for your specific system.
Your SQL and your responsibility
You are responsible for the SQL you submit and for what you do with the result. The formatter is designed to change only whitespace, line breaks and the case of keywords, but you must review the formatted output before you run it, commit it or deploy it, especially against a production database. Test changes in a non-production environment first, as you would with any code.
What not to submit
Do not paste confidential information into the formatter. In particular, do not submit:
- passwords, connection strings, API keys or other credentials;
- personal data, such as names, email addresses, document numbers or health or financial records, embedded in literals or comments;
- any SQL or data that you are not allowed to share with a third party under your employer's policies, a contract or the law.
Submitted SQL is formatted in memory and is not stored or logged, as described on the privacy page. Even so, removing sensitive values before you format a query is good practice with any online tool. Replacing them with placeholders does not change how the query is laid out.
Acceptable use
You may use the formatter for personal and commercial work. You agree not to:
- send automated or bulk requests at a volume that degrades the service for other people;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers or its data, or to probe, scan or test their vulnerability;
- interfere with the site's operation, for example through denial-of-service attacks, malicious payloads or attempts to bypass limits such as the maximum input size;
- use the contact form to send spam, abuse or unlawful content;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
We may block traffic or access that breaks these rules.
Advertising and analytics
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense and uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic. These third-party services may use cookies, subject to the choice you make in the cookie banner, and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content of ads or of third-party sites that ads or links lead to. The privacy page explains which cookies are used and how to change your choice.
Intellectual property
You keep all rights to the SQL you submit and to the formatted output. We claim no ownership of either.
The site itself, including its text, guides, documentation, examples, design and logo, belongs to its maintainers. You may quote short passages with a link to the source page. You may not republish substantial parts of the site, or present them as your own, without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainers of SQL Format are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or the formatter. This includes, without limitation, data loss, database downtime, incorrect query results, lost profits and costs of recovery, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, in which case these limitations apply only to the extent permitted.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the site gains new features. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the maintainers of SQL Format are established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
